Boat Ride up Rogue River

Woke up early to go down to Jerry's Rogue Jets to get on the 9:30 boat ride up the Rogue River.

We went on the 64 mile round trip boat ride. Our Captain, Tim, was super funny. Quite a character. He had many funny stories and great information about the area & wildlife. He had a dog on board with him. He said, "his name is Puppy, my son, Boy named him."

Getting ready to go!

We took our time going, seeing seals & birds.

This guy caught a big fish. Not sure if it was real, or staged for our trip.

The bridge was really cool that we went under.

At the top of the bridge was this gal named Alice, she took our picture. Which later of course you had to buy. $7 not bad.

It was a bit chilly heading out, then after awhile it warmed up.
Lots of different types of trees, lots of birds - saw an eagle perched in a tree, red tailed hawks, etc. In some parts the water was as smooth as glass.

We had 3 different places we could choose for lunch. We chose Cougar Lane Lodge. What we didn't know was that it was the last one & the shortest walk up to the lodge.

Anyway, we walked up, found a nice table outside and started w/ drinks. I got an Arch Rock Pale (the brew house is actually right near our resort). Everyone else got Bloody Mary's.

The food was really good. I had a pulled pork sandwich. They had some really tasty BBQ sauce on the tables.

I already dug into it, but so good!

Mom had the brisket.

The lodge has places you can stay, a little market & gas station. There is a road to get you there.

This is not a good pic of me, but Mom is busting up and it's good of her.

On the way back on the boat, Captain Tim really made it fun for us. He was spinning around, then would stop fast, put it in reverse and all the water would fly on the boat. Phil was on the outside and just got drenched. We'd be going pretty fast too and super windy.

Here's the Eagle perched up on a tree.

By the end of our boat ride, we had dried off and it got chilly again as we got closer to the coast.
Really fun trip. I'd highly recommend it to anyone up here in the area.
Fun times!
