Back down 101

Headed back down 101, but went up a little ways North to Heceta State Park to see the Sea Lions & the lighthouse. The fog rolled in along the coast. It was cold & windy. Quite a difference from Florence where it was warm & sunny.
We stopped at the Sea Lion Caves. $14 to go down 200 FT in an elevator to a cave. In 1880 a man took a rowboat in and discovered the cave where all the sea lions stayed to get out from the weather.
We saw some babies with their mama on a rock.

Here's the walkway down to the elevator.

Another view from up above.

We were going to go to the Lighthouse, but it was really foggy and cold so decided to just take some pics of the surrounding area.
Cool bridge.

Drive back to the 101.

There was this really old tunnel we went through.

I was driving, so couldn't get the best shot.

Stopped in Bandon at the Face Rock Cremery. Tasted yummy cheese & bought some.

Along with yummy ice cream.
Chocolate brownie.

Further down the coast, stopped to take some great shots. This was south of Port Orford.

Lots of driftwood on the beaches.

Coming into Gold Beach.

Stopped @ Jerry's Rogue Jets to buy some sweatshirts/tshirts.

We figured it would be a great place to stop since it was already almost 5pm. Every place said "no vacancy."  We pulled in the first hotel that said "vacancy" and got a ocean view room.

Met our friends Sally & J.O. @ Turtle Beach for some good conversation. They were already BBQ ing so we got some food to go at The Tavern. Good ol hamburgers & fries. Delish!
Saw the sunset on our way back to the hotel.

In for the night. Love you all!
xoxo
